Why would it feel easier to lift faster if it activates more muscle fibers than lifting slowly? I’m not sure who your reliable sources are, but lifting explosively (i.e. jerky motion) is probably dangerous, since you might pull a muscle before you realize it (you don’t give your muscle much time to react to the motion). I understand switching things up, but I don’t think lifting “explosively” is ever the way to go. I think Mr. Doug Jones & many other educated/experienced individuals will agree.
its good to switch it up, lift slowly sometimes and lift explosively sometimes, from what i’ve heard from reliable sources who break it down scientificly, they say lifting explosively is the way to go, i’ve also heard this from jay cutler and other professional body builders. lifting explosively activates all your muscle fibers, and lifting slowly only activates some, which may be why you think its easier to lift fast. or else because some people bounce the weights up when lifting fast.
u are all fucken gimps if u dont like your man dnt fucken watch the clip you clueless arsehole

In response to that guy’s question, a person who can lift 450 lbs slowly is a lot stronger than a person who can lift it in 2 seconds. What he’s suggesting is doing your reps slowly, and you’ll be getting more from them.
Doing 50-lb. bicep curls will make a you a lot stronger if you do them slowly (a minute or more for 15 reps) than if you pump out 15 in 20 seconds. And you can’t disagree with that since it obviously takes more strength to lift slowly than quickly.
Did I hear you say at 7:20 that “every 6 months or so” you should take a back-off week?
If you only need a back off week 2 times a year, you are NOT training hard enough.
You posted this 2 months ago, and Mr. Jones still hasn’t replied. That’s interesting to me because your question was simple and quite straight-forward. An expert of Doug’s level should be able to easily answer such a question.
Isn’t the lack of science in this man’s words terrifying?
i mean, medium weights, medium reps, like 12 reps, and repeat alot, so like 4-5 sets depending on the muscle group. Lets put it this wat, you think you would gain more mass by a) doin 1 or two sets of very heavy weight.. or b) by doing many sets of a moderate weight… well the answer is b), calculate the total work done by this method (if you know how) and you will see it exhausts your muscles much more, its called volume training, you should know that
I think he just meant start with low reps, finish heavy.
But i agree, heaviest weights = biggest gains
thats not true actually low reps + heavy weight gives you the greatest gain in size, high reps are for toning you should know that
50 pounds is pretty decent, if i were u i would drop down to a weight that you can do 8-12 reps instead and progress from there. There is no shame in doing high reps/sets of lighter weight, actually, thats how you gain the most muscle mass, by doing a high number of sets/reps of medium weight, and being consistent about it. But your doin good keep it up, just EAT RIGHT and go hard at the gym and you willl see results in no time!!
Its all about believing in your self m8, if you think like that for the rest of your life, in my opinion you will give up on everything and never get anywhere, You have to know (or at the least believe) that you can do it, that way if your mind is in gear it should help your body do as it supposed to! (if you understand what ime on about)
ok im watching this and i think its weird that a ad for Kraft Philadelphia cream cheese pops up
Is this how olympic lifters get so strong? by lifting slowly? Can you snatch 450 lbs. slowly?
ur fat like jessica
